Rev. Travis Taylor
Rev. Travis and his family moved to Manatee Co. Florida in July 2022 from Greenwood, Indiana, where he served as Campus Pastor at Mt. Auburn UMC in the Indiana Annual Conference from 2018-2022. Before his appointed role, Travis led a thriving student ministry where he helped develop a strong small group discipleship model. He oversaw several fund-raising initiatives to raise poverty awareness and combat hunger in partnership with various local and international agencies. He also participated in preaching campaigns in Uganda and India and led several mission trips to the Navajo Nation in Window Rock Arizona.
From 2014-2016, Travis worked as a Family Consultant for Lifeline Youth and Family Services, a local Christian non-profit. In conjunction with Indiana’s Dept. of Child Services, Travis worked one-on-one with families in crisis to help them reconnect and gain the essential life skills necessary to reunify. He has also served on various community boards, including Kic-it (Kids in Crisis) from 2007-2013 to aid youth struggling with homelessness.
Travis graduated Cum Laude in 2013 from Cincinnati Christian University, where he obtained a B.S. degree in Biblical Studies and is currently completing his UM Course of Study through Methodist Theological School of Ohio.
Travis is also a skilled photographer, a Tom Waits enthusiast, and Beat Generation novice. He and his wife Sarah were married in 2000 and have four children: Emilia, Evelyn, Lawson and Samuel.
