Pastor Debbie Marion
Born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, and the middle child of 5 children.
Received a Bachelor of Music Education from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music in Winchester, VA, in 1971, and taught elementary music in Fairfax County public schools for 10 years.
Received a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington D.C. in 1983, and was ordained an Elder in the UMC in the Virginia Annual Conference.
Served under appointment for 35 years, which included 5 years as a licensed nursing home administrator with the Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc.
Retired in 2017 and moved to Riverview, Florida in February 2019.
Began attending SCCUMC in April 2019 and have not looked back! I enjoy singing in the choir and playing handbells, while Lewis plays with the lights and sound, and such, on the AVL team.
Lewis and I celebrated our 25th anniversary August 31!
I enjoy NASCAR, cruising, roller coasters, playing Mahjong and caring for our 4-legged children, Daisy and Maggie, Shi Tzus.
God gave me these 4 years to adjust to retirement, but it appears that he is not done with me yet, and I am feeling a renewed call to continue in ministry as SCCUMC’s Visitation Pastor and helping wherever else I can.
