Our Studies

We are a diverse group of men and women from various backgrounds.  We serve coffee and snacks and generally utilize The Upper Room or Our Daily Bread as our study curriculum.  We genuinely care for each other and start each class with prayer concerns and is followed by a discussion.  This is an ongoing class is currently being facilitated by Doug and Elaine Moore daemoore@gmail.com

When:  Sundays 9:45am-11am                                   Where: Rm 30

This group of men and women believes one of the best ways to connect with others in the church and grow in your faith is through small groups. This group meets for about an hour every Sunday morning to study Scripture together so that we might grow in knowledge, faithfulness and obedience to the Word of God. We also occassionally gather outside of the church for food and fellowship.  This is an ongoing class is currently being facilitated by Guy and Kathy Bailey  cathybailey1cb@gmail.com

Mary Maude is a weekly interdenominational bible study which meets on Monday mornings in the Life Enrichment Center (L.E.C.) from 9:30am until 11:00am. This bible study is open to all women whether you are just beginning your spiritual journey or if you are a life-long learner, your participation in this bible study group will help you to grow in God’s Word. Please bring your Bible and $4.00 for your lesson.

When:  Mondays 9:30-11am                                   Where: LEC

Our Men’s Study Groups meet weekly on Wednesday afternoons in room 30 from 3:30-4:30pm and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm. These groups utilize Scripture along with various video resources to encourage and equip the men of SCC in their discipleship journey.  Discussion is encouraged and questions are always welcome.  Our Wednesday group is currently being facilitated by Pastor Travis Taylor travis@sccumc.org and our Thursday Group by Jeff Jordan jeff@sccumc.com

When:  Wed:3:30-4:30pm/Thurs: 6:30-7:30pm       Where: Rm 30

The Wesley Class Meeting is a system of discipleship initially instituted by John Wesley in the mid-18th Century.  We are two groups of 6-12 people who share our personal faith experiences and strive together to maintain ongoing personal holiness. These individual groups of men and women are ongoing and currently offer two meeting options.  

 When:  Wednesdays 2-3pm/5-6p                 Where: Rm 30

This ongoing group welcomes women of all ages the opportunity to study the Bible together and explore the meaningful questions of life.  We seek to go deeper in our relationship with Jesus Christ and enjoy connecting with other women in conversations about things that matter.  This group is facilitated by  Maria Leasure maria@sccumc.com
